Hey what a nice surprise, I was a little skeptical about the response to a non-TH thread.
Groove, we do NOT want to get rid of Manny. Let him cry in the offseason all he wants about his lack of privacy in Boston...then he can go blow his nose on a hundred dollar bill, as long as he bats around .300 and drives in 100 runs. And I agree that the rotation looks good...don't give up on Tavarez yet, I think he's a far better starter than he is a reliever, and he hasn't had much of a chance yet this year. I wish Timlin would just go away already....but maybe he'll surprise us with a good year.
I agree that the team seems a bit disconnected right now, but it's early in the season, and I'm already seeing that start to change. The runs are starting to pile up. One thing I have concern about is that they don't give up on Dustin Pedroia too soon...he's been so hyped in the farm system the last few years, I'd hate to see him not get a fair chance to prove himself. It's hard not to notice Cora though, it seems like whenever he does play, he does something.
And Don....you are right, the Yankees do NOT suck. However, they did CHOKE. Soem Sox fans would say that calling it a Yankees choke takes away from what the Sox did...but I disagree with that. You can't have the greatest comeback in history without the greatest choke in history, it's that simple

With any luck, the Yanks pitching will continue to break down. I see you have some kid from the minors starting his first major league game tonight...good luck with that one.
Kidd...your part of town is a pretty good mix of Sox/Yankee fans. I have a friend from Connecticut, and she says the state's baseball alliance is split right down the middle.
The next two weekends will tell us something about these two teams. We have 6 games to play! Schill goes Friday night I think, with Matsuzaka and Beckett on the weekend...I can't wait.
