I found this at about 6". It looks like it was attached to something rounded, and with the small spur sticking out of the middle it looks like something hung from it or was used to tie something down. The Dollar was not found there, just using it for scale.
Anyone know or have a guess about it ?

i'm guessing it's two parts that form a connection, that are rusted together. Since it's only 6 inches, probably attached to leather that's rotted away.

Gemologist.... I have looked at it real close, and I am sure it is one solid piece. Thanks for the guess though.

Michelle.... It might be. Do you have any idea as to what part ?

Anyone else have a guess or know what this is ?

Doesnt it kind of resemble a gunners sight? Thats the first thing that pooped into my head when I looked at it.
