Got a chance to head out to my CW camp for a third time this year, and was not disappointed. There’s almost no modern trash in this area, except for a handful of shotgun shells, I try digging every signal.
The highlight of the trip and the last target of the day was a long time bucket lister for me. CW Box Plate! Unfortunately is was wedged between 3 roots and I could barely squeeze my hand down into the hole...I feel like I caused the damage on left side of the plate with my digger
A nice assortment of bullets; the top row is from the “bullet hole” mentioned in the previous post (all came out of a very small concentrated area 3ft by 3ft maybe).
Middle row of impacted bullets also interestingly enough came from a very small area, I’m guessing a position that’s as taking the brunt of the incoming fire.
Last row were just random drops scattered through the area.
A few misc lead items (after I tooth picked the dirt off off the large lead pice, I discovered some scratch/intentional writing on it, which I think is kind of neat).
Two IH pennies, can’t read the date and a decent looking General Service coat button.
Mystery item: it looks like a ring for harness attachments on a musket but I’m not 100% sure, any ideas?
