Over lunch.....your are killing me. I gotta drive 25 miles to and from my spots then spend half the day to do a decent job of searching.

You have a good deal going there.

What state are you in??

Yes sir, that is one well used hoe Larson.

Archer, these were found in S. Dakota.

Joel

now that's a bone.i really like the points you find also.you have got me out looking in Fields now ,looked today but nothing, keep up the en courageing posts jamey

I have a box of about 35 broken shoulder blade hoes and a few that were never made into hoes
I only have about 8 perfect ones
I don't pick the broken ones up any more
some times a squash knife will turn up
these squash knives are made from a buffalo scapula (shoulder blade)

Here are some bone hoes and fleshers and a rib bone Ice Glider I have acquired from that region.

Have lunch? Heck I'd buy you lunch and dinner too for a day of walking that site! Great finds Larson!!

Quito, here are a couple more fleshers I found in a box of hoes
I thought you guys would like to see how much the same they are

I just love those fleshers. I'm surprised yours don't have the teeth. I figured they'd keep putting them on the bit as they wore down.

Joel

joel, I have only found one flesher with teeth
this is one of about a total of 7or 8
I think I have one that is extremely long
I'll go see if I can find it and photograph it for posting here

I can't find the long one but here are 3 more along with an arrow shaft wrench and a squash knife

Thanks Lars. I've got one of those squash knives myself. You need a giant Hutch or something to display your relics so you don't have to hunt them up at home.

you have a nice bunch of rocks
it looks like you have a couple of horse tethers also, right?

Thanks Larson, I may have one, the largest one bottom left. It weighs 13 1/2 pounds and is 3/4 groove. BUT, I am not positive on it's use. There is no use wear anywhere on it, and it seems a little too well made for such a simple purpose. I was almost thinking it was an ice breaker as it was found right above the Sioux River.

here is a better pic. It is perfectly symmetrical.

dag gone quito!thats huge.pretty cool piece.i dont know if i buy into the whole horse tether theory?why put so much time into making something to keep a horse around?and then that would make it not very old, seeing how the spanish introduced horse back riding to north and south america.great artifacts guys
