I had such a great day! :)

Met up with OWK and we did a couple places today. He suggested the places and I brought along my clad curse. ;)

I can't speak for him but I know I enjoyed the meeting and that F-70 is an impressive machine! (Not gonna change my ATP ;) )

We hunted a beautiful morning, almost to 12pm. Then, unfortunately, he had some life stuff to do. :dontknow:

We parted ways and on my way home I remembered a spot I hadn't tried in quite some time. It's been pounded, (I know, I did quite a bit of the pounding myself. :) ) Still, the clad train continued. UNTIL:

That's right new partner, I actually did wind up with a ring after getting fooled before. LOL

Here's the rest of today's finds:

Beautiful day, good finds, an almost whole day hunt, and a new friend!
What could be better? :)

Here's the ring after it's bath:

Oh my yes. ;)

Hey! "Jewelerguy" ?? How does one tell if it's a real amethyst? ;)

Thanks!

you might examine it with a loupe and see if you can find any slight imperfections. a lot of the amethyst stones in rings these days are just colored glass. such was the case several years ago when 'ice' rings were popular ( purple ice, pink ice, and so on) hard to tell from just a pic, but yours looks like a man made stone to me

I'm guessing man made as well. Any idea as to the style/design/age? It is marked .925 but when did they start doing that? :icon_scratch:

From what I can find, French and English silversmiths started using a 92.5% ( but not the 925 that we know ) mark in the 14th century but it wasn't required here in America until 1906.

Nice ring save and a good read , looking forward to hearing more of your detecting adventures !!

Nice ring! I have noticed that I have found the majority of bullets in school yards. Kinda scary.

Why thank you for the kind words! I do attempt to make the reading a fairly pleasant chore. I didn't think anyone really noticed. LOL

Well, stay tuned, there are more stories to come, (if I have anything to do with it! ;) ).
