Hi all,

No gold or silver today unfortunately, but I can feel it’s coming! Lots of ox shoes though! I was wondering if anyone had any theories as to why I find so many more (left?) shoes than the other side shoe? Also, if anyone knows, why were so many lost? They look to all be full and not bent up or damaged? It almost looks like with electrolysis you could still actually use them.

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

Very nice collection of shoes, congrats! :occasion14:

Nice shoe shop ya got going there! :icon_thumleft:
When an ox is shod it wears eight shoes most likely increasing the odds in losing one(especially if the hooves weren't properly balanced). I've seen oxen in action on working farms here in Maine..those things are brutes! It's a wonder they have any shoes on them after a hard days work.

Ha Ha those are actually right side shoes, you have them sitting bottoms up!

I always think that if you're finding ox shoes, you're on old ground....hopefully the ox owners left behind some coins and other relics. Good luck.
