Pacific Steam Navigation Co. Buckle

Hi All Found this buckle at an old river boat port . Sun Baking on the bank . I have found out that the Pacific Steam Navigation Company started in 1838 but didn,t have the Royal Post Contract to Australia until 1877. Not say this buckle may come when the gold rush started in 1850's. Any info would be help. Thanks tinpan sorry used a online resize programme as i am having a few pc problems

About 1905-1910 they became The Royal Mail Steam Packet Company.
So it must pre date that.
