Any thoughts on the paint pot in this pic? Found it years ago in a plowed field close to the river where we've picked hundreds of good arrowheads. Picked it up and almost chucked it into the woods thinking it was half a hickory nut shell packed full of mud. Got it home and cleaned the mud (and a thick sticky layer of black paint at the bottom) and realized it was carved from sandstone which there is no sandstone in this particular area. Didn't learn till later what it actually was.
Any ideas of the possible value of such an artifact?
Thanks,
