Painted Wheat Penny!!

ive seen those done for Club hunts before..Cool find

Hey Blackbyrd,

Hard to say exactly. But, you will periodically find other painted coins, particularly quarters. It used to be that most diners had juke boxes. When business was slow the waitresses would play music. But, to save money they would paint the coins with nail polish. Then, when the machine was emptied, the owner would give the money back. So, the waitresses would play for free.

I've seen painted pennies before, but not with numbers stamped on them.

Nice find!

I found a yellow painted wheat penny with the number 2 stamped into the front of it. Anyone have any idea why some one would do this or what it could have been used for?

Where did you find it at?
