Some photos of my tips to Panamint Valley, Ballarat Ghost Town, and the mines that made the town.

Ballarat (Est. 1896) was once a prosperous gold town nestled on the foot of the Panamint Mountain range. There are many remains of the numerous mines and mine camps around the area, one of them being the “World Beater Mine”. Enjoy!

Back in the 60's and 70's my Dad and I used to camp out that area. We explored a lot of old mining areas and rockhounded. Dad has been long gone, but will remember those Panamints forever. Thanks for pics. Kathy
