panning broad river

I live in the blacksburg area (sc) and there are a couple places on the broad river that have exposed bed rock. Is it a good idea to try panning and possibly some dredging?

Start by sample panning thats the quickest way to tell if its worth dredging or not. Try checking out mylandmatters maps and also thediggins has a few handy maps as well. If you know theres gold there then start crevicing those cracks, otherwise it's just a waste of your time.
