Hit a little park close to home after work yesterday. Got $1.82 , a St. Christophers, trigger guard from a toy gun, arthritis bracelet ( cleaned in Tarnex) , a wire clamp, and some mangled brass thing. 50x100 ft. area, still got 2/3 of the park to go. CHEERS!View attachment 1303279

Nice work, keep digging.

You know, I never looked at one of those medals before. On the front it says " St. Christopher protect me"', on the back it says " In case of an accident, please call a priest ", I find that sort of grim.

Gonna try and hit the rest of the park today after work, 50x200 ft. It's cold and rainy here today though.

We Catholics think of these as Soul Insurance. :)

Personally, I'd rather someone called a doctor first, Priest second.

Congrats on some nice finds and good luck with the rest of the park

I don't really expect anything good, but I've been driving past that park twice a day for 8yrs now and it just bugs me. So now dammit, I'm hitting it.

Nice job if that park is old keep searching the old coins will come...

Finished up the little park today, didn't get much, $ 1.24, one wheatie , a little pocketknife, and I think that big brass thing is a latch for a leather trunk, there's still leather attached to the back. I believe the park was a railroad siding at one time. It's right along the railroad and when I dig down about 6 in. I hit that round ballast gravel.View attachment 1303525View attachment 1303526. I think when they built the park they took out the rails and ties, gave it a layer of topsoil and planted grass. A few years ago they parked an army tank on it.
