Hi guys, well the Excalibur is taking a well earned rest until next summer so now my MXT rules the roost, went with a friend of mine who has just taken up the hobby to a park he has the Minelab X TERRA 30 as his first detector and it has already paid for itself in less then 12 months. Up until this morning he has only done the beaches as he lives a couple of km away from the nearest one.
Well he found digging turf instead of sand very different and difficult in keeping the holes small, but with practice i'm sure that he will get the hang of it.
He managed to find $15.00 and i ended up with $52.00 pic of coins is after soaking in vinigar and salt solution for half an hr.

:) Cheers Raoul

Great finds!
Glad to see you have your friend digging in real sod, and not that easy shmeasy sand. It's more sporting that way. ;)

Wicked finds Raoul. Those goldies add up pretty quick.
That dollar on the right has had a hard life ;D
Do you use a pinpointer? And if so does it attach to your detector or is it stand alone?

Wow 2 pizza's and a slab of real beer = $ 52 [au] ;D ;D ;D

tinpan

Awsome totals, Congrats!!!
Continued Good luck, & Happy hunting~

yarrum the MXT with its pinpointing is spot on when you find its location on the coil,i always have to be careful as i have hit the coin or item on more then one occasion.

Tinpan for me its a carton of VB Stubbies and a cask of Lumbrusco wine.

Same as the dfx, pinpointing is dead on! I am guessing those coins are made out of copper seeing you used salt/vinegar? Amazing that you guys have the $2 coins. .....Must be nice! :) :)

Great finds. I can't wait for the dollar coins to start making there way into my finds. Don't think it will happen very soon, however, since everyone still loves bills. Sigh. ;)

The Sac dollars are a hard find. On the dfx for me they show as a quarter. So I am not sure how many or how long before these new Presentdential dollar coins start popping up. I know some people have already recovered a few.

Gregg the one and two dollar coins are made of 92 per cent copper, six per cent aluminium and two per cent nickel. ;) Raoul
