Hi guys, well the Excalibur is taking a well earned rest until next summer so now my MXT rules the roost, went with a friend of mine who has just taken up the hobby to a park he has the Minelab X TERRA 30 as his first detector and it has already paid for itself in less then 12 months. Up until this morning he has only done the beaches as he lives a couple of km away from the nearest one.
Well he found digging turf instead of sand very different and difficult in keeping the holes small, but with practice i'm sure that he will get the hang of it.
He managed to find $15.00 and i ended up with $52.00 pic of coins is after soaking in vinigar and salt solution for half an hr.

:) Cheers Raoul

Raoul,

Very nice finds. Great looking display pic also.

Wish the folks in the US would accept the use of a dollar coin. People just seem to hoard them. A few do turn up, but they are rare.

Congrats on a very good day of coin hunting.

:D

Paul this is our coins, the 1 and 2 cent coins went out of circulation in 1994.
I only hunt for $1 & $2 dollar coins on grass and discriminate out the rest as i don't like disturbing the grass to much. When i do play grounds and beach work i then dig them all.

;) Raoul

Great hunting, strange that your 2 dollar coins are so small, almost like they want you to lose them, its no wonder you find so many of them,HH...Shoot

Hey Raoul, thanks for the reply. It was very interesting.

I wouldn't mind if the U.S. shifted to $1 and $2 coins and got away from the pennies. It would definitely add to our clad totals. ;D
