Ok, just guessing here, since you didn't give any idea as to the size of the item, but it sort of looks like a wood plane iron (blade) or the planes chip breaker to me.
How thick is it? I assume that it is made of iron, how large. A part of a plow would be larger than a man's hand, a part of a wood plane would likely be something that would fit in a man's hand.

Looks like the blade off of an old fold-up Army shovel (maybe). Hard to tell how big it is.
