Going with priming flask due to size or a chalk line

Looks like a priming flask to me also.

too small for a chalk line. I like priming flask. I have seen flasks like this for gun oil as well. Just a thought.

Looks like half of the body of a sewing awl, it would have a bobbin inside and a needle on the end.
