Part Of An Antique Firearm

Hello everyone. I found this metal detecting near to the site of an 1860 shipwreck in the UK. It is bronze. I think it might be part of an old firearm or perhaps part of a porthole. I'd appreciate any suggestions

Not a gun part, but the barb on it looks like it would lock onto the tooth of a cog....maybe part of a sail furler or something.

I think the sail furler may be close
