I was going to the beat up camp by myself as all my buddies had to work. I coaxed my partner Dennis into making the trip. We knew the finds were getting slim last time and we had said we'd wait until the owner plowed it but the lure of what might be left was just too much
The signals at this camp of the 12th South Carolina infantry during the winter months of January and February 1862 were getting few and far between. It is a big field so I knew that we didn't dig it all. Well my luck was not as good as his. I dug bullets he dug the brass
