I sure love getting out it was raining/ sleeting/mudding and it was hard to quit. I think the Sam Lang piece is from a match case, maybe someone could confirm it. He was responsible for building the Fortune club here in Victor and ran saloons in Denver and Cripple Creek. I was sure hoping the key tag had a name of a hotel but it's still pretty cool. The last piece is a button I think but I can't figure out anything about it. Ice or oyster tongs? Happy Hunting!

Great assortment of recoveries.
Liking the bottles.
Getting local marked history is the best.

Maybe the tongs were made for escargot?

I think the ends are smashed, there were quite a few well off people in the area. I'm surprised we find oyster shells up here. It's amazing what they hauled, once the trains were bustling!!

Very nice bunch of recoveries, congrats!

Or maybe sugar cube tongs?
It was a good hunt for me, that's for sure!! I've settled on "little tongs" for now:) When I found them I thought they had a special shape to hold oysters, but they are just bent:)

Thanks for posting the information. He was quite the interpreter, hence the match safe. Wish I had the rest of it!!
