Hello Miners, Has anyone prospected or mined on the PAULEY CREEK just north of Downieville? I looks like a small creek. Any big gold there? Thanks JOHN

Back in the late 70s, I was there with a freind. We were somewhere close to the Empire mine. Just pans, but did find a Small pieces (along with a number of square nails) in circular holes in bedrock above low water line. Did hear though, there were dredges helicoptered in some distance below from where we were camping and some sizeable pieces were taken from deep pools.
