pawpaw fruit 2024 crop

looks like a lot of pawpaw this year in the woods.

I seen a lot on the trees, only took 2 photos.

I’ve never seen a pawpaw in my area. The map shows they are here, but none around. Maybe I should try to grow some in my woods?

People to our NE a few miles raise them to sell. Also persimmons.

I’ve tried growing them from mail order plants a couple times, they get a few leaves then croak. The local market a couple miles away sells the fruit when in season.

I have hundreds of wild Paw Paw trees on my farm, they like river bottom land. they are really producing nice large fruit this year but the season is nearing it's end in Central Va.

I have read about them, but to my knowledge we don't have them in my area, or at least I've never seen them, and I'm a very outdoorsy kinda guy ! I hear they taste very good though.
