Hello everyone, I am brand new to TreasureNet and am fairly new to metal detecting as well. I decided to check out an area that I found as a teenager when I was up to no good. I hunted for about an hour and all that I heard were trash signals until I got a tone that generated a 99 on the VDI. Those of you who are fellow AT Pro owners know fully well that most of the time these tones are a little too good to be true. Not this time however... To my absolute shock, I found a 1922 Peace Dollar!

I went back the next day, picked a different trail, and dug a 1920 SLQ!

Here are both coins together after I washed them off.

Thank you for looking, I look forward to getting to know everyone!

secondstar, Great find bud, over 25 years detecting for me, and never a Peace Dollar, Nice!

Congratulations Mike, and welcome to the TreasureNet! I guess I should have gone out with you after all...like i said, I've been waiting 12 years to come across a silver dollar, amazing find and one you won't ever forget. Pretty damn cold out today, but let me know if you're going to take a hike up there.

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on two great finds. I think I would continue to hunt that section a while longer if I were you.

Awesome find! My one and only silver dollar is also a 1922 Peace Dollar, but not as nice as yours! I've also found one SLQ, and like most others I see, had no date...so yours with a readable date is extra special...congrats...looks like you're on some nice ground I would definitely be hitting that very soon! Welcome to Tnet, you'll like it here, lots and lots of knowledgeable people. Again, congrats on a couple of nice finds, but next time post a pile of pull tabs and melted crap to make us feel better...lol...Ddf

Welcome to tnet and the addiction Great start I ;like to keep ally finds in a display case where and when found ect its a good future resource and they look cool. That is a great start you will always remember your first silver Thanks for sharing Tommy

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on the silver. Not too many silver dollars get posted, mostly because they are so hard to lose!

Splendid finds, the SLQ is in lovely condition and any detected silver dollar is a rare find, definitely keep pounding that spot!

That is an awesome start! Welcome to TreasureNet and good luck and happy hunting in the future.

Nice job on the silver, congratulations from a fellow Massachusetts digger.

Christ that's a big coin. My dirty little secret is I've never found a dollar coin (a 5-franc and 8-reale don't count in my book). Super nice find!

That's a heck of an introduction to TreasureNet !!!

Keep 'em coming!

Welcome to the party. A wonderful debut thread, Congrats!!! Good Luck and Happy hunting
