Peice of Native American Leather?

Went walking around an area know to have natives in the area.. Came across this down below some cliffs..
A smaller piece of belt/band leather with holes across it. Considering the area it was found in, I have a feeling it may be old. I also have my doubts.
It would be too big for an adult to wear. Maybe a headband or baby belt. probably know way to tell for sure.

Great answer! I believe you are right. Never thought of leather wraps that were used for rackets, etc.
