Hey everyone. I am from lebanon area in pa. My dad and I recently ha a interest in panning. So I went out picked us up a few pans and classifieds off ebay. I have yet to take him out yet. But I have be practicing at home with a few sample buckets I grabbed from the swatara. Haven't found anything except aquarium gravel lol. I'm just wondering if any if u guys are from the area and have and any luck. Cause when I get him out I want us to find a little color, it don't have to be alot. Lol.

U have been doing alot of research. But not a lot of sampling or foot work due to my job. And also I want to take my mom rock hounding to cornwall iron mine. We went a few years back with some good luck we found a nice sized garnet crystal and other minerals. I was wondering if there is still anywhere to collect out there. And with her health it can't be to rough of terrain.

Thank you ahead if time for any input.

Will do. My dad and I went out to a stream near cornwall. Yesterday. We were out maybe a hour. We found lots of black sand but no color. But it was still a enjoyable trip. I'm gunna go explore Lancaster area here soon.

He's my pan full of black sand

There was no name. But here are 2 pics. First one is of mine and my shoe is a size 10.5. And the second pic is from my actual ebay listing.

Yea I think I might scoop out peters creek today in Lancaster.

How many creeks and streams are public

I'm not sure. I just 3hr round trip down to Peters creek. Where I was at is well off the beaten trail. I picked a spot that was not posted and scoop up a 5gal bucket. Nothing was posted. From what I saw. But being alone that far out there I didn't stick around. In a few minutes I'm gunna run a pan or two and see what I come up with.
