I actually found these on Monday, but my battery in my camera was dead so I couldn't take pics. And whats a post without pics, right? :dontknow:
To make a long story short, here is the link to the entire story under the Illinois forum.

I don't know much about this coin, so I don't know if its a rare find for around here, but I'll take it. I think it's my best find of the year so far. Definately my oldest though. Oldest before was an 1876 CC seated dime.

Enjoy and HH!

3 varities of the 1859

1859 narrow 9. Buying price $3.00
1859*brass nawwow 9. Buying price $2,500
1859 with 9 over 8. Buying price $ 25

I dont think its the brass one.Check and see if you can see an 8 behind the 9.Those are some excellent finds.Ive only found 1 of those 1859 largies and it was the one that was worth $3.00.

Doesn't seem to have an 8 underneath. Oh well. Thanks for the info. Looks like I just have the $3.00 one too. ;D
It's worth more to me though.
