Penobscot Expedtion_ Thomas Veazie's ID tag

This relic was found near Ft George in Castine Maine in 2007. Took me some time to research it but Thomas Veazies name was on the town of Penobscot list of inhabitants of that town prior to the battle in 1779 and not listed after.

I envy you guys back east. Sooooo much history. Congrats on a great find.

The condition of that item is what makes it so special. The detail is incredible and that engraving certainly makes it a very special find indeed. Perhaps the best in my opinion. Anything that may have been carried by a soldier and may have gone to battle with him....priceless. Have you ever been in touch with his family Gary?
