Petrified/mineralized wood?

Found the little piece while digging some trash up metal detecting so I thought I would post it up here. Found it near a cedar swamp in the pine barrens of southern New Jersey. This a fist for this area. I have found tons in another place and time 20 miles west of here before; but never in the pine barrens. It does not look like any of the wood I found west of here. I think I read once wood can mineralized in ten thousand years.

Can you take a closer photo of the piece in question without the other things?
A couple angles will help also.

I'm not very educated on your area but that looks like dinosaur bone to me.
About my avatar ..yes I found it that way.
The hole was made many centuries ago by a Native American.

That's amazing. You have some awesome stuff there. Thanks for the info. Dino bone! Awesome, gonna have to do some digging over there now and see if there is anything else
 

Mabey bring a sifting screen if you have one.. or sacrifice a pasta strainer..LOL.
