✅ SOLVED Pewter button with number

Hi guys and gals, I went out detecting today on a new field that was absolutely packed with signals. I am posting the rest of the finds in Todays Finds, but I need a bit of help with this button. Is it military? is the number a 9 or a 6?. I think the age is late 1700's early 1800's, what do you think?

I'm not really a button man Ian, but it looks like a early numbered milatery button, I'm sure IP will clear this one up quick.

Same, but different? RWb12ds- British 31st Regiment of Foot, other ranks pewter button.Fought at Saratoga.

That's a good one. Doesn't look like an exact match to the book, but good enough to say it's a British 6th of Foot enlisted man's pattern, circa. 1768-1776. We call those ones Rev War over here! (And you can to)
