I dug up this pewter button and was wondering if anyone has found one similar and what would be the age.This would help me with timeline for this area.Thanks!

Hey buddy are you sure that's pewter? It's got an odd appearance for pewter. I have dug a small brass button very similar I believe. My guess is early 1800s. If it is indeed pewter it's likely earlier

Decorative brass button...late 1800 early 1900's..

I didn't think it was brass,it rang up in the pewter range on the ctx and one end he seems to be slightly crumbling. But brass makes more sense since the cellar near it is around 1860. At least I don't have to coat it
