Picked a few pears from our tree

We get a lot of pears and although they taste great the skins don’t look like the pears from the market We don’t spray could that be the problem

We have a big apple tree and two large pear trees.luckily the deer cannot reach the higher ones.we used to have several peach trees that used to produce so many but I ended up losing them..sending this next time I’m out I will look for a few more trees and I will have to fence them in as the deer will destroy them with their antlers

Here in Michigan, I thin mine out early so instead of 50 smaller pears I get 25 bigger ones.

Thanks great idea I need to find out when to prune the trees so hopefully next season it will be better

I think the pears at the market are picked b4 ripe and when unblemished. Yours look perfect to me for home grown.

When we had pear trees and they were loaded we used clothes line poles to prop up the branches until the pears were ready. Then we used the poles to pull the fruit off. If you pick when they are slightly green you can wrap them in newspaper to ripen

Thank you for your advice I never can reach the upper pears a pole will definitely help and my wife always says they need to ripen..now I have all the answers
