I went to my new bank that I was told by one of its employees that you can use the coin counter for free and you do not have to be a member. He only had one thing wrong you do have to be a member but I did not qualify under any of their groups. So they told me if I make a five dollar donation to the PTA they can sign me up as a member and I only need to put $5 in a savings account. So I put $200 in and gave them my donation.

I went to dump half dollars in the machine and it was full after only $85. So the attendant had to come and put a new bag in. I asked how long that bag had been there and she said it was the very first time they had changed the half dollars and it had been there for TWO YEARS. Yes I would like to buy that bag please. Sure no problem.

I finished dumping my coins and bought the bag. They told me they saw lots of pennies and dimes in the bag so I needed to understand that the bag was being sold to me AS IS. No problem I figured those were rejected and ended up in the half bag and maybe they were extra.

So after going through all the halves tonight I found it was $2.50 short. No problem looks like there was enough other change to fill that in.

So here is what I kept out of the $1,000 bag.

ONE BENNY 1952d
ONE MERC 1925 could be a d
1 x 1973s proof
1 x 1991s proof

1 guitar pick
1 1945 large penny
1 flat quarter
2 mutalated quarters
2 mutalated pennies

50 modern quarters
104 dimes
72 copper pennies I have not checked for wheats yet.

I have found that some machines half bags act as the trash can for other things. most often rejects shoot in there for some reason. But only in some machines. Some are very clean.

Often times a lot of the tokens and odd ball stuff is not counted as a half. I love it when I can fine some of the neat stuff in there. I am just waiting to find a gold coin someday :)

Some nice finds in that bag but i got to ask, what's a 1945 large penny?

British, Australian, etc..... They are about the size of a Half Dollar, but most common ones are only worth about 5¢ on the collector market.
