Pics from sampling

I am always picking up rocks off the property to look at and photograph. One is pyrite? and tourmaline and the other I'm not sure what. The bigger rock contains the fern like crystal. Any ideas?

Beautiful specimen

That tree or fernlike pattern is common to mineral crystallization that forms on another mineral and is referred to as dendrite.

Of course my favorite is crystalline gold, also referred to as dendritic gold.
It's possible that yours is also a tiny specimen of dendritic gold but very hard to verify from the photo.

Blew photo one up, and right in the center looks to be a beautiful leafy specimen. I would hustle PDQ where you found that and pick up everything you can find that can find with similar mineralization, and see if you can start to isolate the source. Got to be a pocket close. Invest in a loupe or a 800X usb micrscope so you can behold the beauty you have found. Can be removed with hydroclorics acid, but extremely dangerous, will destroy everything but the gold and anything it touches, including skin and bone. DO NOT TRY BY YOURSELF, LET A PROFESSIONAL TRY IT. Congrats....

I showed this rock to two different people today and got two different opinions. An old prospector friend of mine thought it was gold. Another friend with mining experience thought it was pyrite but thought he could see free gold in the rock. Myself I'm not sure. In any event I will go back to where I found it and do some more poking around.

Pyrite is usually cubic. It might be gold.

Notis only is it gold, but one of the most rare of specimens. GG I like your photo better
