Mona Lisa found these awesome pictographs during our hike in the Rockies last weekend, I'm just now finally posting the pics. We saw the bighorn sheep during this same trip.

These hand prints and pictographs were made with only iron oxide and water and are believed to have survived here thousands of years. They were painted by unknown ancient western plains people... which we discovered after later finding out they are well known and we were not the first to stumble upon them. Either way - it was a fun place to find.

I'll post just a few of the pics.

Isn't it something to see 'ancient artwork', thanks for posting.

Nice pics, jim.Bet Mona is happy about you using that one with her mouth wide open.

Cool, MJ. I always like the rock art photos. I always thought the hand pictographs were a way of saying, 'I was here'. Then again, it could mean 'Oh man, I got this crap on my hand, I'll wipe it off on this rock'. Good pics.

I like that old graffiti, too, Jim.

Even some of the new works are very interesting and we get a new artshow on a regular basis as the trains roll through.

Somehow I don't think it will last near as long as what you've discovered.

But, I really do love all the pics, I am glad they did not have paper or we would not have these wonderful pieces to see!
