Very cool thread some interesting artifacts in the photos. Thanks thirty7 for the post

Great pics, I love that turkeytail.....Thanks for sharing!

thanks 37,are those nails holding some of those points.your collection looks better than that jamey

glad you like them. hey jamey, thanks for the comments. Most of the artifacts are held in place by small nails or pins. Honestly I was a little disappointed, the building is really nice, 4 floors of exhibits. The entire museum is filled with one mans collection of north and south american indian artifacts. I went to see rooms full of artifacts, but the projectile points were surprisingly hard to find, and they weren't labeled with much info or providence. The brochure claims they have over 140,000 points but they must be collecting dust in the basement? I'd say less than 2000 were on display. I still recomend seeing the museum, if you're into pottery, decorative clothing, and figures and effigys, they have a large selection. I just really wish they'd display some more points.

here's a couple more, let me know if you want to see more.

The museum in Ellerbe has a dug out in it. I'd like to see any and all pictures you have from your trip.

For some reason I thought that is where the Smithsonian sent all of their stuff. At least it seems like a read that a couple years ago.
That alligator effigy is my favorite.

hi 37 i really feel like i put my foot in my mouth,i just hate to see works of art hung by nails.the more pictures you show the better i like it,and want to thank you for posting them.cant belive how fast them nails make me view the negative parts of collecting,as i only look for the positive things in life that always drawf the negitive..jamey
