I find a lot of these in central fl, but don't know what they are. sometimes they make a conglomerate, some times i find them alone. the partial one stuck to the conglomerate is the biggest I have found. most are the size of a nickel or smaller. The side profile shot doesn't represent their thinness, as there is a lot of matrix stuck to the back. they are thin, round but not usually flat. They are more like a vinyl that sat out in the sun and are featureless on their surfaces. So what the heck are they? There seem to have been abundant in their time. @gatorboy, this is the fossil I was referring to a couple of weeks ago. stuff 126.webpstuff 123.webp

I think you got it. Thank you :)

Foraminifers I think..like Harry said in the other post.
I don't find them over here.. at least I haven't looked in places where they're abundant.

LOL... yeah... what he said

It's the Eocene foram, Lepidocyclina ocalana.

It's definitely not a nummulite.

A nummulite is a large lenticular fossil, characterized by its numerous coils, subdivided by septa into chambers
