Has anyone thought about or used truck bed spray on liner to protect the pinpointed from wearing out on the forward end?

Yes. Did both of my pin pointers and my coil on my detector with bed liner. Before coating the pin point, make sure the bed liner does not have metal in it. Spray a little of the liner on paper and when dry see if it sets off the MD or PP.
