Got out Sunday for a bit with xGregx to Pinhook Park.

Only found clad, but it was a nice day to detect. Humidity was low and the heat wasn't bad at all.

We ran into a guy who was full of information (or something else) and at one point he said that there used to be horse rides back in the early days similar to what you would see in New York Central Park.

Anybody ever heard of anything like that here at Pinhook? If that is true, there should have been some older coinage pulled out.

I've never had a good hunt at that park....and I've given it more than 3 tries.

maybe the old man was a bit misinformed. I do know that the old Playland park was not only the site of the 1st county fair, it was also a horse racing track. That place was ALWAYS my go-to spot...too bad it's now dorms for IUSB.

Yep, Playland Park would have been a good one.

Guess I got back into the hobby to late for that one. (Rats!!!)

Howard Park is an old one. Any luck there?

Howard park is hit or miss...I've pulled a couple of rings outta there...a nice gold one too.

Howard is one of the oldest if not the oldest park in the Bend isn't it?
