I found this ring -this past weekend and I was wondering as it was under about 2-3 inches of dirt (it was caked with dirt) once the ring was washed off it looked new, not oxidized or tainted like cheaper junk stuff that I've found recently. I'll try and post a better picture- but all I have is a pink stone, it was so hot that day I don't even recall what it came up as on the minelab. it has small stones all around the main stone and down the sides- nothing is missing and everything seems tight to the ring.

my girlfriend's Dr friend saw it and said as soon as he checked it out, it looks like pink tourmaline in white gold. I'm thinking it's really unlikely since it's not marked... IDK. guess a trip to the local jeweler might be on this weekends agenda. ... so far it seems like every time I find an interesting (and maybe valuable ring they don't have markings. 14k gold last time! :) ) my girlfriend is happy on being with me when I made this find! she's loving this one for sure... ::)

again sorry for the bad pics- if anyone has any idea who makes this or what it might be post please...I will post another couple of good photos as soon as I get some time to take some...

take it to a jeweler quickly!! My huge plat/diamond ring that I found had no markings and I thought it was fake!

From what I can see in the pics, it's a BEAUTIFUL ring. I would take it to a reputable jeweler and have it tested. Looking at your 1st pic, it looks like a mark inside the band at 11:00. Is that an optical illusion? Great find, Breezie

Awwwww Breezie ...the eyes of a hawk...I just noticed that mark as well and was going to tell him so...then I saw who posted and I figured you had everything locked in including the original owner....you are a hard act to follow...LOL even thought the picture is foggy, isn't it a stunning ring?....LOVE IT.

Ahhh, T-Tee, don't make me drive to Texas; it's waaaaay too hot! LOL :laughing7: You know we travel side by side, especially since in college we posed for that bronze carved statue! And both of us know the original owner since you were wearing it THAT night at the bar. I'm sure he'll mail it to you immediately. :laughing7: Breezie

geeze i'm not awake yet- here are some pics for this ring (I just accidentally posted them alone..duh) anyhow -no marks on the inside at all, i'm leaning toward a pretty junker- just it looked really good for being under 2 inches of dirt and just washed off... :) pretty junk... :)

Appears to be a pink cz with that color flash. If it was in a gold setting, I would have to guess pink spinel or pink sapphire because of the flash. The setting tells volumes about the stone. When someone comes to me with a 5 ct. "alexandrite" in a silver setting, or worse, gold plated with the gold worn off, and tells me it is real, her great grandmothers's from way back, and that the family has always been poorer than church mice, I don't need to test it. "Very nice, what a nice memory to leave for you".

my girlfriend took the ring to the jeweler - yep sadly it's confirmed, pretty junk. nickel plated, but you know what ....it's better to find junk then nothing at all when it's this hot out! :laughing9: ...and she still loves the thing. :dontknow:

$6 = lmao... I can't sell it, I've already given it away! :tongue3: but thanks for the offer...

I know you were kidding man, no worries...I do keep coming back here and checking out people's finds- it's what keeps me interested in metal detecting and coin roll hunting... (I'm up like $400 this weekend finding two rolls of halves! 1 roll of 1964's and the other 40% 1968s! :icon_pirat: THANK YOU ST. ANN! my GF took me to church, and good luck followed! :laughing9: ) - finding this ring was a plus! bummer that it turned out to be junk, but it was still a find while being out digging up goodies- it's so much better then not finding anything at all so it's all good!
