was detecting an old bridge site on the Chatthoochee river in North Atlanta where Hernando de Soto was reported to have past through Georgia in 1540.

but I don't think this was part of his treasure he left behind. It contained a 1984 quarter, a decomposed $1.00 bill and a piece of cherry taffy that I discarded.

This was my funny find of the week. Otherwise on this hunt I just found some clad in the bridge area.

Definitely pirate treasure, unsure of the dates though

looks "piratey" to me too.

Good call!

Wife's family for yrs. has put candy, coins and/or folding money in plastic Easter eggs. Sometimes they forget to count how many they're putting out so they don't know if any are missed. A couple of times I've found them in they Mom in law's yard months after. Could be something like that? Cool find. Good luck
