i was wondering how much plastic scrap is. there are two kinds in particular that i was wondering about, the hard plastic that is the covering to computer monitors, and the plastic that you have to strip off the copper wires. does anyone know how much they are?

CRT plastic is known as ABS and the plastic on insulated wires is known as PVC...

Unless you plan on dealing in large quantities ie 40 000 lbs, don't even think of trying to make money from scrap plastic.. it's essentially worthless where I am, you are lucky to get 2 cents a lb for it.

Its full of hydro carbons.

Figure a way to make a pyrolysis chamber and you can catalyze it into useful things like fuel for your car!

take the long chains of HCO's and break them into CO and H2 gas (Syngas). They can then be reassembled with the catalyst into other things.

that way you can buy junk and crap for next to nothing, and sell it for $3 to $4 a gallon.
