hmmm, got me stumped. It doesn't really look like bone, but then I have seen some I didn't think were bones at first.

Please help me figure out what this is. Its very heavy for its size. Looks like dinosaur horn or something. I bought it at an estate sale. Thank you.
It has that teardrop shape on both sides in the same spot but only half of it is left on the other side. It is also signed with what looks like the name Robert and the date of 1983. Would someone sign a bone for any reason?
 

When fossils are being logged at their quarry site, their jackets or bags are marked with dates, quarry name, and log number. Could be that after cleaning it was marked on the base for reference?
 

You were sold what's called a Barnum.

If it is a barnum does that mean its a T Rex tooth? Is it valuable?
 

Looks like it might be a fossized claw of some sort? T rex?
