Please help identify these marine fossils

I saw these in Imperial County in Southern California, USA. The fossils there are supposed to be around 6 million years old. There were lots of fossils of scallops, gastropods, and oysters mixed in with many of these cone-shaped fossils. Many of them had 4 ridged columns running the length of the cone. (I expect the others would have had them to. They just didn't preserve.) One of the photos shows two smaller cones preserved leaning against each other.

Possibly scaphopods. Google scaphopoda and then click on images. The long narrow ridge shaped conical tusk-like features are the shells of scaphopods. The conical speckled shape form they are in is just the rock matrix.

They do like they might be scaphopods. It's odd several of them always seem to group together with a cone shaped rock matrix connecting them. Next time I visit the area I might be able to get a better idea what's going on with them, now that I'm armed with this info. Thanks for the suggestion!
