graves range from 1700s and 1800s if this helps

Maybe the top ornamental pieces of an old fence that was once there?

The hook end of tent pegs goes in the opposite direction--towards the point--at least the ones I'm familiar with.

I went back to the grave yard to look to see if I'd find any above ground by the graves. Didn't see any......

And when I found them they where all in a pile in the ground about 8 inches deep
