I dug this item in an area in Dinwiddie VA that is very close to a civil war hospital and where I have found various civil war personal effects. I found a very large oak tree with roots approximately 12" round. I found this item deep under a root along with several broken pieces of bbroken ceramic pieces.I pretty sure some of the end broke as I tried to get it from under the root. The top is solid and appears to be mold formed while the bottom part has several small round holes. Is it junk or maybe something good?

Your pics are blurry and we have no idea of scale, other than the pic that has your fingertips in it. Try taking more pics in better light.

Right now, am completely stumped!
