Please help me with new minelab excalibur ii???

Hey guys im brand new to detecting and I know i have a mountain to learn but the threshold on my minelab excalibur ii wont stop jumping it wont stabilise into a stable humming noise even tho its jumping it can still pick up metal objects.

I have the machine set up how minelab recommends i gave the battery a 16 hour charge i have the cable bound around the machine with no loose cable hanging near the coil please please please help me out if u guys can at all!!!

Sensitivity might be set too high. Clive Clynick has some excellent books on Minelabs.

It would help if you told us what your settings are. It soulds like you have sentivity too high (too hot) but with out know what you have it set at it is hard to tell...
