I have this item, it is made of wood with a leather strap that goes around which attaches to a hand hammered clasp/buckle. It is 5 1/2" X 10" the clasp looks to be hand forged and not stamped, the leather belt has made in Italy on it. I think it might have been a book holder maybe? but I really don't know

I think it's abook holder myself. The board keeps everything strapped in from bending. IMHO, Woodstock

You need to hold that camera steady and use the macro lens. Dont forget to slightly pause while pushing the camera button to allow the lens the split second it may require to auto focus..

What does it say in the last picture? Are those letters?

ADDED: I just realize its MADE IN ITALY like you said.

I apologize for using my cell phone as my daughter has "borrowed " my camera for pictures of my granddaughter for halloween. I don't have any fancy options on the cell cam other than point and shoot.
