Okay guys, I have a couple finds from this morning's short hunt. This place is about a mile from a major Civil War battlefield. I am really hoping the US piece is period. It still has some fabric/leather? attached to it. I do not know what the other clip or such is as well. Thanks for looking.

I am having a hard time dating these things. I found found a few online which say Civil War/ WW1. How will I know how old these are? Anybody else out there that can definitively tell me?
