Hello,

I'm Argee. Could you help me identify this Badge which we have found in our Underwater Archeological Excavation Site. It is a Normal size Police Badge made in Brass, with a CROWN on top, and with Markings "FORD-SHIRE NR 80". Pictures will be posted as soon as the item is brought down from the shipwreck site.

For the mean time, can you help me identify it based on the above mentioned features?

Welcome Agree.

I'll wait for the Pics.
Would be too hard for me just by Description.

Someone here may be able to tho.

in my opinion, It's probably Oxford shire

Can you State the Age of the Wreck ?

or Do you think it Dosn't belong to it ?

What kind of crown? Victorian crown(flat dome),Kings crown (single rounded dome)or Queens crown(double rounded dome)? Identifying this could help date it.Try posting it here:http://www.constabulary.com/index.htm .Good luck, let us know what you find out.Interesting.

Being on a ship, could it be something along the lines of meaning Regimental Navy? I know that normally the ships are called HMS (Her Magisty's Ship) or something like that. The 80 could correspond to a ship registry or hull #. Thus a ship name the HMS Oxfordshire Sorry, just taking a shot.
