Police Button research help needed ??

Heres my first attemtp to post a whatzit. Found this at about 14" with my White's XLT at my inlaws house. You can clearly read "Buffalo City Police" and "T. Kirkpatric N.Y." on the opposite side. Any ideas as to how old ? I can only assume Buffalo NY as well. Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

The button can only be as old as April 1871. (This taken from the site below)

Late 1950s. I have several on an Ike Jacket I was given by an old retiree when I joined the PD. This wa in 1966. Mine Say Tulsa Police Department and same manufacturer. A lot of colleectors of police memorabilia will be interested. Monty
