On my most recent local excursion with my stepson I found this small silver coin. My first impression when it came out of the rocky, mountainous soil was that some kid lost his "Funny Money"--seriously, the bust on the coin looks kinda' like some guy with a big nose and ears in a clown outfit.......after closer examination I realized that it actually is a real piece. At home I browsed the net and found that it indeed is real (not play-money or counterfeit!!).
Minted Poznan in 1591 under the reign of king Sigismund the Third (b.1566-d.1632) of Poland (et al.).
